Okay, so maybe my title is a little misleading as I’m not going to actually show you my kitchen. Not yet at least. It still has to be painted, it needs a few decorations, some touch up’s here and there, and until I claim it “pretty enough” to be seen, I shall keep my kitchen a secret. So shhhhhhhhhh….
Maybe you don’t get to see my actual kitchen but I want to show you a “theme” I have scattered throughout the wonderful place of cooking and eating. Thanks to my mom, my kitchen has a little bit of normality and it’s coming together quite well. Seeing as how I’ve written a lot about how much I adore mason jars and their usefulness, this shouldn’t be a shock to you.
My favorite color is blue, I’m in love with the 1950’s time era, and mason jars just seem to the thing people go crazy for (myself included). I’ve never actually seen this set until I received them for my birthday, but I couldn’t be more thrilled to have these beauties within my kitchen.
Measuring Cups:
I bet you’d never believe that this regular sized mason jar can be used as measuring cups! I sure didn’t when I first opened the package.
This mason jar bodes well as a perfect little decoration, yet it’s usefulness comes in handy ALL THE TIME. It’s so much easier to take this decor apart than to hunt for my measuring cups when I am in the midst of baking.
As you can see, they’re easily labeled for your convenience.
Mason Jar Measuring Spoons:
If you’re going to have the measuring cup set, then you must have this adorable measuring spoons set to go along with it! I love it so much that I have it hanging up in my kitchen rather than stuffed in a drawer, which you will certainly see, just NOT YET.
Mason Jar Spoon Rest:
Up next we have this lovely spoon rest. I’ve been wanting one of these handy dandy kitchenware thingamabobs since I’ve been living on my own. I don’t know why, but spoon rests sitting in the middle of the stove makes it seem more inviting. I used to hate making spaghetti because of the sauce practically staining my kitchen counters. Okay, I’m exaggerating, but still! Since having this particular spoon rest, there’s not a single excuse for me not to make spaghetti. It makes for an easy clean-up, that’s for sure!
Mason Jar Salt & Pepper Shakers:
I have two sets of salt and pepper shakers. One I use for cooking but these decorative cuties are sitting out loud and proud on our high-top table set. Super cute!
Mason Jar Utensil Holder:
Okay, so here we have the last of my vintage mason jar kitchen decor! This awesome utensil holder is the perfect kitchen counter decorative that your cooking area is missing. I’ve never had something that holds my utensils before, so I feel a bit spoiled with this cute kitchen add-on. Nevertheless, it has come in handy plenty of times!
Did I mention that these beauties are dishwasher safe?! Say what?! I’m still VERY gentle with them as they’re ceramic. And since I love them so much, I am determined to take extra good care of this set, so I tend to hand wash everything. So there ya have it, not quite 1950’s-ish, but definitely my favorite kitchen decor as it’s blue, mason jar themed, and has that unique vintage look!

Super cute! So many mason jars, but they’re really essential these days, aren’t they! Can’t wait to see the finished kitchen when you’re done decorating it.

I love those salt and pepper jars! I love anything vintage, so I dig the look of Mason jars. And I also love that vintage shade of blue. My dream is to own a convertible that color and drive around the country, but sadly I don’t know how to drive!
Ooo me too, me too! I’d have everything vintage if I could! Girl, get somebody to teach you so you can drive the convertible until your heart’s content! 🙂

I am obsessed with mason jars – I would have totally gotten the measuring jar and the salt & pepper shakers
The measuring jar is my favorite. I didn’t think I would use them as much as I have! It’s so easy to just grab the mason jar instead of rummaging through the drawers looking for measuring cups.

We saw some super cute mini Mason jar glasses today at Gordman’s. I think they were about $12 for 8 of them and they were super cute! I don’t quite have this addiction, but was still tempted to bring them home!
That’s a great buy!! Even if you don’t have an addiction it’s hard not to like them. I mean, sipping some sweet tea from a mason jar…it doesn’t get any southern than that 🙂
