My Cute n’ Country Infuser

Oh, good ol’ Florida weather. It’s currently in the high 60’s outside (beautiful weather for Florida) and that’s only because we had a little rain over the weekend. I guarantee you, later on in the week it’s going to be back up in the 80’s (joy).

There is nothing I enjoy more than something cold to drink on a hot Florida day. Sweet tea and lemonade are always a top pick. However, lately I’ve been wanting to have something that I can drink other than water that will be healthy for me. I typically go to sugar free options but they’re terrible for you. Either you get a sugary drink or a sugar free drink that’s filled with aspartame which apparently causes cancer. So either way you put it, water is the best option. Or is it?

Ever heard of an infuser? Yeah, me too. Hear about all the benefits that come along with putting fruit in your water like:

  • It’ll detox your body
  • Boost your metabolism
  • Slows down the aging process
  • You get more nutrients
  • It’ll clean out the toxins
  • You’ll feel better
  • You’ll lose weight

And the list goes on and on. Now whether or not all those things are true I have no clue, but I liked the idea of infusing my water. I first tried this “fancy fruit water” at weddings, hotels, and events and I was surprised at how much I liked it! It was just enough flavor added to my water, and I didn’t feel guilty about drinking it as fruit is good for you.

I had always thought about buying an infuser but I never got around to it and they tend to be on the more expensive side for a good one. Plus, I’m never usually sold on a new product right away, so I usually will forget the new fad and move on. Which is exactly what happened until just a few days ago.

My mom recently gave me an adorable, useful product that allowed me to infuse my water. (Isn’t she just the best?!) I’m a HUGE fan of mason jars (who isn’t?) so once I saw it, I was sold! I mean look how cute it is. Drinking straight out of a mason jar. It can’t get any cuter.

So let me tell you how this works. If you look at the picture up above you’ll see that I currently have oranges and strawberries in my mason jar but you can add any fruit or veggie. (I know some of y’all are fans of the cucumber mint stuff.) I have found that typically the more acidic fruits work better. I did try apples one time just for the fun of it and it tasted like the skins of an apple. Ick.

TIP: It can taste even better if you let it sit overnight.

All you have to do is add your fruit, water, ice and this nifty lid.

The lid in the picture above comes from a company called Jarware. This specific little product keeps the pulp and fruit particles from getting too far. It’s cheap too! Around $4.99 is the cheapest I’ve seen so far.

Reasons as to why I love this product:

  • Dishwasher safe
  • BPA free
  • You can cut the fruit as small or large as you want
  • You can add a little Stevia or Truvia (plant sweeteners) and it’ll make your water naturally sweet
  • Fits the regular mouth jars so almost every mason jar out there is suitable

The only problem with this product is that because the mason jar is glass, condensation will form. My mom gave me the helpful tip of wrapping it in foil. That definitely helps and I prefer drinking from glass anyways as plastic can be harmful too.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this cute n’ country infuser with you. Maybe it’ll be an inspiration for you and your family to drink more water this summer! Have you tried infusers before? What’s your favorite brand you’ve used? Let me know and stay hydrated! 🙂
